My toughest shot is downhill, (side hill lie) over bunker and must land stopping on sloping away green. HELP!
Need guidance. 40 to 30 yards.
Mine, too!! That is the epitome of missing "short side." You have to be Harry Houdini to get that ball safely on the green. The problem occured before that shot. I know we all miss, but we have to be conservative enough to recognize where we will struggle and play away from it.
Martin I’m playing at Diamante in Mexico this week and my second shot went into the waste area about 40 yards from green. There is a hill with little shrubs in way. tried to hit the ball with my 54 degree wedge like a bunker shot, but it only went about 20 yards. What should do?
First, pinch yourself that you are at Diamanté. Now, hit that explosion shot w a 9 iron so the sand and ball has a bit more forward velocity. Tough shot any way you “slice” it.
Good info! Off topic... how do you play from pine straw?
Hi Erick, unless you are really close to the green to hit an explosion, you need to have ball first contact. Hands get ahead of the ball via body rotation. Trick shot.
Martin, on tight lies like you show here, when you need loft to get over a hazard, etc., the ground is too hard to take a divot...what is your best suggestion. Thanks, RBR
